Bayer Yaz Patents Invalid, Teva Claims

Law360, New York (June 2, 2010, 7:01 PM EDT) -- Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. has asked a court to invalidate three Bayer Schering AG patents that cover the contraceptive Yaz, adding a countersuit to a legal dustup that began Tuesday when Teva launched a generic version of the drug.

The court should rule three Bayer reissue patents invalid and find that Teva has not infringed them, Teva said in a declaratory judgment suit filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
