CIT Restores Original Duties To Najarian Furniture

Law360, New York (June 3, 2010, 3:20 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has ruled that the U.S. Department of Commerce was wrong to reliquidate Chinese furniture imported by Najarian Furniture Co. Inc. at a higher duty rate in order to correct a ministerial error, ordering Commerce to reliquidate them again at the original rate.

Judge Leo M. Gordon of the U.S. Court of International Trade entered judgment Thursday in favor of Najarian in its suit against the U.S. government over the duties.
