MicroUnity Sues Apple, Others Over 16th Media Patent

Law360 (June 4, 2010, 2:30 PM EDT) -- On the heels of a complaint accusing Google Inc., Nokia Corp. and 20 other technology companies of infringing 15 media processing patents, MicroUnity Systems Engineering Inc. has lodged a new suit targeting the same defendants over a 16th patent.

The complaint, lodged Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, also re-alleges infringement of a second patent that has been re-examined since the filing of the initial suit.

Apple Inc., Verizon Wireless, Motorola Inc. and Texas Instruments Inc. are also among the nearly two dozen companies accused of infringing patents claiming software for group floating-point arithmetic operations...
