McDonald's Recalls 12M Shrek Glasses Over Cadmium

Law360, New York (June 4, 2010, 11:16 AM EDT) -- McDonald's USA and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Friday jointly announced a voluntary recall of the fast-food chain's “Shrek Forever After 3D” collectible drinking glasses, following the discovery of high levels of cadmium in paint used to decorate the glassware.

CPSC officials estimated that the recall would impact an estimated 12 million units sold at McDonald's restaurants nationwide between May 2010 and June 2010.
