KBR Wants FCA Suit Over Unauthorized Guards Nixed

Law360, New York (June 9, 2010, 5:58 PM EDT) -- Army contractor KBR Inc. has asked a federal court to throw out a False Claims Act suit that accuses it of wrongfully billing the U.S. government for unauthorized armed guards the company hired.

The use of private security to protect contractors in Iraq is common, and KBR is being “inexplicably” singled out, the company said in a motion to dismiss filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
