ICE Countersuits In Nymex Copyright Case Dismissed

Law360, New York (July 9, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a closely watched battle over copyrights for market prices, a U.S. judge has dismissed three antitrust-based lawsuit counterclaims against a copyright infringement lawsuit filed by the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) against its rival the IntercontinentalExchange.

The counterclaims by ICE were made in response to a copyright infringement lawsuit filed by Nymex, claiming ICE used Nymex settlement prices without having a licence agreement.
