Fried Frank Partner Picked To Head Up MMS Overhaul

Law360, New York (June 15, 2010, 7:18 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama on Tuesday appointed Michael R. Bromwich, a litigation partner at Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson LLP and former U.S. Department of Justice official, to spearhead reforms at the troubled Minerals Management Service.

Bromwich, who heads up the firm's internal investigations, compliance and monitoring practice, is tasked with implementing the administration's calls for change at the agency, following revelations of corruption among MMS officials that surfaced in the wake of the BP PLC oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
