Judge Buries Barr's Plan For Generic Argatroban

Law360, New York (June 18, 2010, 6:22 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has handed a victory to GlaxoSmithKline PLC, Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. and Encysive Pharmaceuticals Inc. in their patent infringement battle with Barr Laboratories over the anti-blood-clotting drug Argatroban, forbidding Barr from producing a generic version of the drug until after its patent has expired.

Judge John G. Koeltl of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York issued his findings of fact and conclusions of law on Wednesday, ruling that the drug's patent, held by Mitsubishi, is valid.
