Walgreen, CVS Caremark Resolve Drug Plan Feud

Law360, New York (June 18, 2010, 11:22 AM EDT) -- Walgreen Co. and CVS Caremark Corp. put an end Friday to a nearly two-week feud that threatened to impact thousands of patients and the drugstore companies' bottom lines, agreeing that Walgreen will remain in the Caremark pharmacy benefits network.

Executives at the two companies said they had reached a new multiyear contract that would continue their drug reimbursement relationship, but they declined to disclose the financial terms.

Caremark members will have access to 64,000 retail pharmacies, including over 7,500 owned by Deerfield, Ill.-based Walgreen, the companies...
