Settlement In Subaru Odometer Suit Gets Approval

By Abigail Rubenstein (June 28, 2010, 3:31 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has preliminarily signed off on a settlement between Subaru of America Inc. and customers who bought or leased cars with allegedly faulty odometers.

Judge George B. Daniels granted preliminary approval Friday to a settlement resolving a lawsuit alleging that the odometers in the Subaru's vehicles did not accurately reflect the mileage actually driven.

As part of the approval Judge Daniels preliminarily certified a settlement class of all individuals in the continental U.S. and Hawaii who purchased or leased Subaru vehicles with model years from 2002 to 2007.
