UAW Takes Defiant Stand In Delphi Talks

Law360 (February 2, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The United Auto Workers is refusing to cooperate with any Delphi-imposed deadline in its labor negotiations with the auto supplier, upset because it was supposedly shut out of the decision-making process regarding the timeline.

On Thursday, the UAW emphasized that it will not cave into pressure from Delphi to reach an agreement within a certain timeframe, potentially thwarting a crucial step in the company’s efforts to emerge from bankruptcy.
