Texas Instruments Wins SJ In Processor Patent Spat

Law360, New York (July 6, 2010, 1:21 PM EDT) -- Texas Instruments Inc. has successfully shut down a patent infringement suit brought by Microprocessor Enhancement Corp. accusing it of violating MEC's patent covering computer processor architecture.

Judge Stephen V. Wilson for the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California signed off on an order granting Texas Instruments' two motions for summary judgment of noninfringement on Thursday, ruling that prosecution history estoppel, which limits a patent filer from making infringement claims on an original version of the patent after it has been amended, applied....
