Bankrate Loses Bid To Toss Listing Table Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (July 14, 2010, 7:14 PM EDT) -- Interest rate monitoring company Bankrate Inc. has lost its bid to toss an antitrust suit brought by its smaller rival BanxCorp alleging an unfair monopoly on the market for bank rate listing tables.

Judge Susan Wigenton of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey on Tuesday denied a motion by Bankrate to dismiss the suit because BanxCorp's complaint allegedly failed to state claims under the Sherman Act, the Clayton Act and the New Jersey Antitrust Act.
