Madoff Investor's $12.8M JPMorgan Suit Tossed

Law360, New York (July 16, 2010, 2:55 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has dismissed MLSMK Investments Co.'s lawsuit seeking to hold JPMorgan Chase & Co. responsible for the loss of a $12.8 million investment in Bernard L. Madoff's infamous Ponzi scheme.

Judge Barbara S. Jones of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York granted JPMorgan's motion to dismiss the complaint Wednesday, finding the investment firm had failed to make a case that the bank knew about the fraud.
