2nd Circ. Agrees To Hear Chubb Rate Hike Actions

Law360, New York (July 16, 2010, 1:06 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court is allowing the plaintiffs in two putative class actions, which allege Chubb Corp. breached its insurance contracts by improperly raising home insurance premiums, to appeal a lower court order denying class certification.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit decided to hear the case Wednesday. This will be the second time the court hears the case; previously, it partially revived a breach of contract claim against Chubb after the lower court threw out all of the claims.
