Judge Signs Off On $550M Goldman Settlement

Law360, New York (July 20, 2010, 7:02 PM EDT) -- A district court judge on Tuesday approved a record-setting $550 million settlement between Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, resolving regulators' allegations that Goldman misled investors about the performance of subprime mortgage investment products.

Judge Barbara S. Jones signed off on the consent judgment presented by both parties Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
