Discovery Gets Under Way In Toyota MDL

Law360, New York (July 21, 2010, 3:02 PM EDT) -- The judge overseeing the Toyota Motor Corp. unintended acceleration multidistrict litigation has opened the floodgates to discovery, setting the stage for the parties to begin taking depositions and sharing documents.

The first phase of discovery is intended solely to educate the parties about foundational issues involved in the litigation, Judge James Selna said in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Tuesday.
