Vlingo Fires Back In Speech Recognition Patent Battle

Law360, New York (July 26, 2010, 3:52 PM EDT) -- Vlingo Corp. has accused rival speech recognition technology company Nuance Communications Inc. of infringing five of its patents in an effort to spur the resolution of two earlier infringement suits filed by Nuance.

Vlingo filed suit Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, alleging that Nuance has made and sold speech recognition products and services that infringe the patents-in-suit.

Cambridge, Mass.-based Vlingo further contends that Burlington, Mass.-based Nuance violates the patents by actively inducing infringement or contributorily infringing them.
