Pa., Not NY, Law Governs Sealy Injury Insurance Spat

Law360, New York (July 26, 2010, 5:53 PM EDT) -- A judge has ruled that Pennsylvania law will govern a dispute between Continental Casualty Co. and American Home Assurance Co. in which Continental is trying to recoup $900,000 of a $1.9 million tort claim it paid out on behalf of Sealy Inc. to resolve a worker's personal injury lawsuit.

Judge Laura Taylor Swain granted AHA's motion for partial summary judgment on the question of whether Pennsylvania law would trump New York law in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Thursday....
