US Settles With 3M's Imtec Over Iran Dental Exports

Law360, New York (July 28, 2010, 2:19 PM EDT) -- 3M Imtec Corp. has agreed to pay a $125,000 civil penalty as part of a settlement with the U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security, which accused the dental implants maker of unlawfully exporting equipment to Iran on at least eight occasions.

The agency, part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, said Thursday that the violations occurred prior to July 2008, when Maplewood, Minn.-based global products giant 3M bought Imtec Corp.
