E.U. Court To Rule On Volkswagen Law

Law360 (February 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A legal adviser to Europe's highest court is set to issue a ruling on Tuesday on whether Germany can shield Volkswagen AG, its largest auto maker, from a foreign takeover under a law that European Union competition regulators have called protectionist and sought to overturn.

The advocate general is slated to submit an opinion on the so-called “VW law” for consideration by a panel of 13 judges of the European Court of Justice on Tuesday, Dow Jones reported.
