Madoff Trustee Wins $180M Judgment From Vizcaya

Law360, New York (August 5, 2010, 1:02 PM EDT) -- The trustee charged with recovering money for victims of Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme has won a default judgment of $180 million against British Virgin Islands-based hedge fund Vizcaya Partners Ltd. and three affiliates, which allegedly profited from the scheme.

Judge Burton R. Lifland of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York entered default judgment against Vizcaya and its affiliates Siam Capital Management, Zeus Partners Ltd. and Asphalia Fund Ltd. on Tuesday in favor of trustee Irving Picard, who sued Vizcaya in April...
