GM Loses Appeal Of $3.5M Rollover Verdict

Law360, New York (August 9, 2010, 5:06 PM EDT) -- General Motors Corp. has failed to convince a federal appeals court to reverse a $3.5 million jury verdict in a case over the death of a teenager in the rollover of an allegedly defective Chevrolet Blazer.

The lower court did not abuse its discretion when it denied several GM requests to intervene in its favor and to exclude evidence in the trial over the death of Matthew John Reynolds, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit said in an order issued Thursday.
