Hughes Heirs Object to GGP Reorganization Plan

Law360, New York (August 12, 2010, 5:12 PM EDT) -- The heirs to Howard Hughes' estate have filed objections to bankrupt mall operator General Growth Properties Inc.'s proposed reorganization plan, expressing concern that the plan may discriminate against them.

In a filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York on Wednesday, the heirs claimed that the new reorganization plan proposed by GGP does not properly identify how their claims will be treated and ask the court not to approve the disclosure statement until the issue is addressed.
