Snapple Label Action Stayed Pending FDA Feedback

Law360, New York (August 12, 2010, 2:11 PM EDT) -- A federal magistrate judge has stayed a class action claiming Snapple Beverage Corp.'s “all natural labels” are misleading, asking the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to weigh in on whether high fructose corn syrup qualifies as a natural ingredient.

Magistrate Judge Lois H. Goodman of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey stayed the suit for six months, pointing out that the high fructose corn syrup issue is at the heart of the consumer class action against Snapple.
