Iowa Fund Seeks To Join Lehman Securities Case

Law360, New York (August 12, 2010, 3:25 PM EDT) -- The Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System is seeking to intervene as a plaintiff in the mortgage-backed securities case against affiliates of bankrupt Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. following a federal court’s partial dismissal of claims by securities purchasers.

IPERS and three pension funds already bringing the case asked the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Wednesday to allow IPERS to join the case to represent some of those plaintiffs whose claims were tossed out by a ruling in February.
