Filmmakers Get 6 Months In $2M Thai Bribery Case

Law360, New York (August 16, 2010, 2:53 PM EDT) -- In what one attorney described as a warning to Hollywood, a federal judge has sentenced a husband-and-wife film production team to six months behind bars for violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act by paying a Thai official about $2 million for contracts to run a film festival.

The sentence Judge George H. Wu of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California issued Thursday to Gerald and Patricia Green fell far short of the 10 years in prison that the prosecution had requested, however....
