Qualcomm Wins Patent Suit Over "911" GPS Technology

Law360, New York (August 3, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal court has ruled for telecom technology provider Qualcomm in the last remaining patent claim of Zoltar Satellite Alarm System’s lawsuit over a system to track calls to the “911” emergency number using Global Positioning System technology.

The U.S. District Court in San Jose, California ruled that Qualcomm and its subsidiary SnapTrack Inc. did not infringe on the remaining patent claim not decided by the jury in a case tried earlier this year, Qualcomm said.
