Sony, Others Settle In PACid Encryption Patent Suit

Law360, New York (August 20, 2010, 12:29 PM EDT) -- PACid Group LLC has inked a flurry of settlements in its suit claiming more than a dozen technology companies infringe two network encryption patents, striking deals with Sony Corp., HTC Corp. and Palm Inc.

Judge Leonard Davis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas granted two separate joint requests for dismissal on Thursday, signing off on settlements between PACid and four Sony entities, as well as between the plaintiff and two HTC entities.
