Class Action Calls For Return Of "Excess" Fuel Tax

Law360, New York (February 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Oil companies have been hit with a class action alleging they are capitalizing on high fuel temperatures and pocketing tens of millions of dollars in taxes from motorists.

Drivers in Georgia have filed a suit demanding Murphy Oil USA and other fuel companies and gas station operators in the southern state return their allegedly ill-gotten fuel tax windfall.
