Cipriani Settles Waiters' Suit Over Service Charges

Law360, New York (September 1, 2010, 12:51 PM EDT) -- A group of high-end catering halls owned by famed restaurateur Giuseppe Cipriani has settled a putative class and collective action filed by waitstaff who claimed they were bilked of service charges and wages.

Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Tuesday dismissed the case without costs and without prejudice, noting that the parties had reported a settlement to the court.
