Judge Denies Banks’ Request To Delay Enron Trial

Law360 (February 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Despite a last-ditch plea from several investment banks, a district court judge has ruled that the $40 billion suit filed against Enron Corp.’s underwriters will not be delayed.

Merrill Lynch & Co. and Credit Suisse Group asked Judge Melinda Harmon of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas to push back the commencement of the trial while an appeals court considers their motion to decertify the shareholder class in the suit.
