Chevron Appeals $3.5M Award In Wrongful Death Suit

Law360, New York (February 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Chevron has appealed a district court's $3.5 million award to a grieving mother who filed a wrongful death suit against the gas company when her daughter died after being lit on fire at one of the company's gas stations.

Angail Durriyah Muhhamad was charged with murder, among other things, in the burning death of Nodiana Antoine. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
