Polar Air To Pay $17M Over Air Cargo Price-Fixing

Law360, New York (September 2, 2010, 6:55 PM EDT) -- Polar Air Cargo LLC has agreed to pay a $17.4 million criminal fine to settle a price-fixing charge, making it the latest airline to cop a deal in the U.S. Department of Justice's probe into the international air transportation industry.

Long Beach, Calif.-based Polar Air conspired to fix cargo rates between the U.S. and Australia from January 2000 to April 2003, according to a felony charge filed with the plea agreement Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
