Taiwanese Co. Sues RIM Over Wireless Patents

Law360, New York (September 3, 2010, 12:43 PM EDT) -- A Taiwan-based patent-licensing company has sued Research In Motion Ltd., alleging the Canadian smartphone maker has infringed three patents covering 3G wireless communications technology.

Innovative Sonic Ltd. filed a complaint Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, asserting U.S. Patent Numbers 6,925,183; RE40,077; and 7,436,795, following unsuccessful licensing talks.
