Virgin, Sky Fight Over Price Of TV Channels

Law360, New York (February 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Media moguls Richard Branson and Rupert Murdoch clashed on Friday, after Branson’s Virgin Media accused Murdoch’s British Sky Broadcasting of artificially inflating prices for several television channels in an attempt to steer customers towards its Sky Digital satellite service.

Virgin claims that Sky is asking for double the rate from previous years for five basic Sky channels that broadcast popular shows to the United Kingdom, such as Lost, 24 and Nip/Tuck.
