Forgent Expands Controversial Litigation Over JPEG Patent

Law360, New York (August 9, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Forgent Networks has expanded its controversial litigation over a patent for the JPEG image compression standard with complaints against 11 new defendants, including Yahoo!, Google, Sun Microsystems and TiVo.

The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division, also targets Acer America Corporation, AudioVox Corporation, BancTec, Inc., BenQ America Corporation, Color Dreams, Inc., ScanSoft, Inc. and Veo Inc.
