FCA Suit Against UGA Researchers Gets The Boot

Law360, New York (September 9, 2010, 4:01 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has let a group of University of Georgia researchers off the hook in a suit that alleges they made false statements on a grant application to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, ruling that the claims were based on public information of which the relators were not the original source.

Judge Clay D. Land of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia signed off Wednesday on an order granting the defendants' motions for summary judgment in the False Claims Act suit....
