Taiwanese Cos. Dumping Polyvinyl Alcohol: Commerce

Law360, New York (September 10, 2010, 2:11 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce has issued a preliminary determination that Taiwanese polyvinyl alcohol makers are dumping their products in the U.S.

In an ongoing investigation, Commerce found that the companies were selling PVA in the U.S. at 3.02 percent less than fair market value, according to a report released Thursday.

Commerce plans to finish its investigation by January, it said.

The department initiated the probe in 2004 at the request of domestic producer Celanese Chemicals Ltd., which has manufacturing facilities in Kentucky and Texas....
