Verizon, Others Can't Ditch Antitrust Suit Over IP Trust

Law360, New York (September 10, 2010, 5:37 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has kept alive a $500 million antitrust suit accusing a consortium of telecom companies, including Verizon Communications Inc., Cisco Systems Inc. and Ericsson Inc., of conspiring against small patent owners and licensors to bully them out of business.

However, Verizon and its fellow defendants are free to refile their failed motion to dismiss now that plaintiff has amended its complaint, according to Thursday's ruling by Judge Denise Cote of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
