Apple, SanDisk, Samsung Sued Over MP3 Patents

Law360, New York (February 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A small patent holding company in Texas has hit Apple Inc., Samsung Electronics Co. and SanDisk Corp. with a patent infringement lawsuit, alleging the trio of technology heavyweights infringed its fundamental MP3 technology.

The nine-page complaint was filed on Feb. 16 by the mysterious yet aptly named Texas MP3 Technologies Ltd., based in Marshall, Tex. The case was assigned to Judge T. John Ward in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
