Black Launches Second Effort To Block Plea

Law360, New York (February 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Media magnate Conrad Black has made a last ditch effort to try and block a guilty plea that would provide federal prosecutors with another key witness in the criminal fraud case against him.

Lawyers for Black headed to an Ontario courtroom on Monday in an attempt to persuade the judge to disallow a plea agreement reached between U.S. federal prosecutors and Ravelston Corp Ltd., the holding company owned by Black but operating under court-ordered receivership.
