WTO Releases Confidential Boeing Subsidy Ruling

Law360, New York (September 15, 2010, 1:25 PM EDT) -- The World Trade Organization on Wednesday handed down its ruling in a case brought by the European Union accusing the U.S. of offering illegal subsidies to Boeing Co., reportedly finding that some U.S. payments distorted competition from rival aircraft maker Airbus SAS.

EU and U.S. officials received the confidential WTO report Wednesday, although the details will not be made public for several months. However, an anonymous source familiar with the matter said that the ruling criticized billions of dollars in payments to Boeing from the U.S....
