Law360, New York (September 28, 2010, 12:34 PM EDT) -- As the U.S. Department of Defense moves forward on a major budget overhaul, contractors will need to gear up for a tough fight to recover their costs on cut and scaled-back programs and gain an edge over competitors, according to experts.

The DOD's efforts to cut back on the $400 billion it spends annually on goods and services will spur disputes over contract terminations and changes, and contractors should be watching closely to ensure they're paid their due, attorneys said.
