Wal-Mart Hit With Class Action Over ATM Fees

Law360, New York (September 16, 2010, 2:18 PM EDT) -- A Wal-Mart shopper has launched a putative consumer class action against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., alleging that the retail giant does not properly disclose the fees charged by ATMs at its locations.

Donald C. Thomas lodged a complaint Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging that the retailer's failure to display the ATM fees on or at the outside of the machines violates the Electronic Fund Transfer Act.
