R&L Carriers Hit With OT Class Action

Law360, New York (September 20, 2010, 5:13 PM EDT) -- R&L Carriers has been hit with a proposed class action alleging the trucking company failed to properly pay overtime to workers who unload its fleet and are not subject to the motor carrier exemption of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

R&L violated the FLSA by paying those employees the same rate for regular and overtime hours, rather than time-and-a-half for overtime, according to the complaint, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
