Indian Conglomerate Makes Bid For MGM

Law360, New York (September 20, 2010, 6:38 PM EDT) -- An Indian business conglomerate is reportedly in talks to acquire debt-laden movie studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., which pits it against a handful of other interested parties.

Sahara India Pariwar — which has operations in the financial services, real estate, media, film production, sports, information technology, health care, tourism and hospitality sectors — bid more than $2 billion for MGM, according to the Wall Street Journal, which quoted a person familiar with the matter.
