Abbott Hit With Class Action Over Bugs In Baby Formula

Law360, New York (September 24, 2010, 6:13 PM EDT) -- A personal injury lawyer whose wife fed their child with powder infant formula that was recalled this month for containing beetle parts and larvae has brought a putative class action against the baby food's maker, Abbott Laboratories Inc.

Michael S. Brandner Jr. filed a complaint Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on behalf of his wife Kathleen A. Brandner, accusing Abbott of negligence, strict liability, intentional and negligent misrepresentation, breach of express and implied warranties and unjust enrichment.
