GAO Nixes Protest Over Heater Tube Contracts

Law360, New York (September 28, 2010, 3:50 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has rejected a bid protest brought by Standard Heater Tube Inc., finding that a U.S. Department of the Air Force request for quotations on heater tubes and associated filter kits was not unnecessarily restrictive.

In a decision released Friday, the GAO found that there was no basis to object to the Air Force's testing requirements for the products, which are used in testing aviation fuel for thermal stability using the American Society for Testing and Materials' Jet Fuel Thermal Oxidation Tester....
