Clearwire Directors Resign Over Antitrust Concerns

Law360, New York (September 30, 2010, 3:47 PM EDT) -- High-speed wireless provider Clearwire Corp. announced the resignation Thursday of three board members – all executives of Sprint Nextel Corp. – ostensibly to address antitrust concerns, but prompting rumors of an upcoming deal.

Daniel R. Hesse, Sprint's CEO; Keith O. Cowan, Sprint's president of strategic planning and corporate initiatives; and Steven L. Elfman, Sprint's president of network operations and wholesale, have now stepped down from Clearwire's 13-member board of directors.

However, the other four Sprint appointees on the board remain unchanged, according to Clearwire.
